We are so pleased to announce that A Precious Child is returning as our 2022 charity. This fantastic local organization provides basic essentials to children and families in need, including clothes, shoes, coats, scholarships for sports, arts and education, birthday and holiday gifts, new backpacks filled with school supplies, and more. A Precious Child collaborates with over 546 Agency Partners throughout the Metro Area and provides disadvantaged and displaced children with “Cradle to Career“ support to break the cycle of poverty by reducing socioeconomic inequalities, and connecting them with needed resources, services, opportunities and educational support.
In addition to their usual programs, A Precious Child was monumental in their assistance during the Marshall Fire Relief Effort. They immediately stepped up in the wake of this disaster to serve the survivors of the fire; to date, A Precious Child has served over 3,521 unduplicated individuals with essential items and delivered a total value of more than $1.6 million in resources to the Marshall Fire community. On the night of the fire, A Precious Child staff delivered 200 pounds of blankets and pillows to an evacuation site in Broomfield. A Precious Child then pivoted from its normal operations to open its Resource Center for a week to fire survivors so they could shop for basic essentials, all free of charge.They also set up at the Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) and opened up a pop-up Satellite Resource Center to help meet the immediate needs of the fire survivors, connected with Agency Partners from Boulder Valley School District to provide basic essentials to students impacted by the fire, and helped open the Marshall Fire Donation and Resource Center at Flatirons Mall, in partnership with the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and Adventist Community Services.
To say we are in awe of how they came forward to assist the community is an understatement–we are humbled and grateful by all they have done and it truly is an honor to partner with them for this year’s LTYM Boulder show.
A Precious Child will benefit from a percentage of our ticket sales, and audience members will also have the opportunity to further support them with a donation the night of the show.
