Hey all! Here’s my weekly wrap-up, highlighting what I’ve been up to in the blog world this week.
On Monday, I stumbled down memory lane with my post How My Life Has Changed Since College.
HerStories featured two fantastic essays this week, from Pam Moore and Julie Burton. Read Pen Pals and You and Me, and make sure to enter our giveaway while you are there! Entry is very easy, and if you already follow me or Jessica on FB and/or Twitter, you have an automatic entry! Leave a comment for 3 entries! We are giving away a copy of the book Friendfluence: The Surprising Ways Friends Make Us Who We Are by Carlin Flora.
I was thrilled and honored to guest post with my friend Katia of IAMTHEMILK on Thursday. She has a new series on infertility and miscarriage. For those who have experienced pregnancy loss, and even those who haven’t, you may want to check out What I Really Lost When I Miscarried.
I co-hosted Finish the Sentence Friday again; the theme was “I thought I was so cool when I…” and I chose to write about potty-training. Because I’m just that cool. Read Why I’m Not Ready to Potty Train My Toddler.
I’m not gonna lie, y’all: It was a rough week IRL. (I’m using the techno-term for “in real life” because I think it makes me sound cooler.)
Sitting next to my toddler in a restaurant booth is like dining with a psychotic weeble-wobble. #checkplease

I am taking a tiny blog break next week to focus on some other projects (like my filthy house and piles of laundry, among other things). Thanks to the convenience of pre-scheduled posts, I will still be posting next week, but fellow bloggers, don’t be dismayed when you don’t see me around as much next week. I promise I’ll be back commenting by the end of the week! I may not reply to comments as much next week, but I will definitely be reading them- please know how much I appreciate all your comments!
Stop by Monday for a HerStories post that I am beyond excited about from my friend Kate at Can I Get Another Bottle of Whine? She is so funny, and her post is beautiful. I will be guest posting with the talented Meredith of The Mom of the Year (tell me you don’t want to check that out!) as well. My daughter Izzy will be featured next week, too, and I’ll be back at it for Finish the Sentence Friday!
Have a great weekend!
So looking forward to next week! And glad to hear you will be catching a bit of break too 🙂
It’s always good to take a break when you need it.!! Hope you get a lot done with your projects!! –The Dose Girls
Make sure to take some time to do things that you actually enjoy during your break and not fill it all with laundry and poop. Enjoy!
You deserve a break! I need to think about taking one of those too. I can’t seem to get my posts written more than a few minutes before I post them though. Some day. 🙂 I’m excited about guest posting with you!
weird how themes, impulses and ideas seem to travel among those in (a medium) like this blogworld… the idea of taking time off has been in the back of my mind of late. I’m not thinking that I need to stop writing for x days/weeks, but rather the thought often on my mind, is that there must be some scheduling trick that I am over-looking, one that will allow me to publish Posts* whenever the spirit moves me, but still having free time for my hobbies, i.e. employment, family life.
Will read with interest your reports next week on the insights you have gained**
* I learned about scheduling Posts only very recently, when Cyndi (Pictimilitude) did a guest Post at the Doctrine…I actually had no idea you could write it and set it to go off on it’s own at predetermined future time…damn! but I’m still in the ‘hey!-that-would-make-a-good-Post’ school of blogation
** what do you mean, she said nothing about taking time off to reflect on the ways of good blog writing?!?
