Hello friends! Hope you had a fabulous Easter weekend and a wonderful week. Here’s my recap:
We are at peak Egg Hunt ages in our house, and had at least three different searches throughout the day on Easter. We had a great time dyeing eggs, opening Easter baskets, and running wildly through the backyard looking for eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny himself. I am thinking he may regret having set the bar so high four years ago. Just a thought.
HerStories continued with two really wonderful essays. On Monday, I featured Carisa Miller’s unique and captivating essay, Leslie and Me. Jessica featured Christine Woodruff’s story, A Dog, Two Families, and Amy, an incredibly poignant essay that I found moved me to tears. Check them both out if you haven’t already.
I also shared a story of my six year old daughter defending my honor, with Maybe Mommy Isn’t So Mean After All.
Then I co-hosted Finish the Sentence Friday- the sentence this week was, “A typical day in my life looks like…” I decided I’d share a bit of my “other life” with you guys, and included an essay I wrote awhile back about my job as a music therapist and early childhood music teacher. Read more here- Why I Won’t Quit My Day Job.
I had an ulterior motive, though- this week I launched my new website for my music classes, Music With Miss Stephanie. Stop by and see what I do for my “real job.”
Then I had writer’s remorse and wished I’d used a different post- stay tuned this week for my follow up to “A Day in the Life”.
Here are a few other highlights from my week:
Have a great weekend, everyone!
“Writer’s remorse” – that’s funny. I’ve totally had that. Like I’ve thought about going one direction with a post then go another way to be “safe” or so I don’t look ridiculous and then everyone else did what I was originally thinking. I’ve done that with Monday Listicles. Or someone has a great idea and I’m like, “Crap! Why didn’t I think of that?” I love that passive aggressive song. So funny!
I wish I’d heard that passive-aggressive song. AWESOME!!
It was a great week at Mommy, For Real!!
