It’s been another exciting week, y’all!

HerStories has had a fantastic second week with two powerful essays- read them here:

Friendships Form In the Most Unlikely of Places
Vulnerable and Open to a New Life After Divorce

HerStoriesWe can’t wait to share next week’s amazing essays with you- they are so unique and we have been so impressed with the stories you have been sending our way. If you are interested in sending us a 500-1000 word essay about a friend in your life, along with a short bio and photo, please contact us at herstoriesfriendshiptales@gmail.com. Keep up with all the contributions by following Jessica’s blog, School of Smock. It is smart, informative, and interesting- she is a great writer and I think you’d love her posts!

On Tuesday I shared my toddler’s, ahem, new vocabulary words as well as some alternatives to using profanity around your kids. If you haven’t already done so, you’ve got to check out the comments on this post. HI-LAR-IOUS.

Alterna-swears: What to Say Instead of Using Profanity In Front Of Your Kids

Thursday was such an exciting day in my blog-world: I got to guest post with my blog hero, Julie DeNeen, as part of her Fabulous Blogging 1st Year Blogger Guest Post Series! Read my post here.

I also ran my first ever giveaway, offering a free 1-hour blog consult with the aforementioned blog guru, Julie. Guess what- great news! You can still enter! It ends this weekend, so hurry up and check it out here!

My Guest Post In the First Year Blogger Series and Fabulous Blogging Giveaway

The most exciting thing that happened to me this week (this year?) was that I auditioned for the Denver production of the Listen To Your Mother Show and made it in! Awhile back I asked for your help choosing my audition piece, because, true to form, I could not make a decision. I want to thank you all so much- many of you patiently read through my choices and offered valuable feedback, and I couldn’t have done it without your help. I am truly grateful.

If there is a Listen To Your Mother Show in a city near you, you should definitely try to see it. It runs the week of Mother’s Day in 24 cities, and each production is a live stage show featuring 12 writers reading their original work about motherhood. Pretty incredible. For more information check out their website- Listen To Your Mother Show.

Here are a few other wise and mindblowing things I had to offer this week on Mommy, for real’s Facebook page and Twitter account. (See how I worked that in so you could follow me there, too? I’m sneaky.)

Oh, and one more thing! So apparently Facebook is going the way of the dinosaur when it comes to following blogs. (OK, that may be a bit extreme.) We all know FB has been making changes, and you don’t always see the pages you like in your newsfeed. I guess Google + is the “New FB” for following blogs. See that pretty little g+ button in my sidebar? You can click it to follow me there! Oh, and while you’re at it, you can click the pretty “p” to follow me on Pinterest!

And the other newest development for following all your favorite blogs in one place is bloglovin’. If you are a blogger on bloglovin’, click my icon in the sidebar to follow me, and I will happily follow you back. And of course, there’s always the good old subscribe by email option in the sidebar too.

Is your head spinning too? Seriously, what next?

So there you have it- my blog week in a nutshell! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Looks like yet another snowy one in these parts. Sigh.
